The Anchor Philosophy
Rather than teaching Contacts and Accounts in terms of a sales organization and customers, newbies will learn the concepts of the system more quickly if they can think in terms of an organization that they already know. The former teacher will learn better in terms of teachers and students. The former nurse will learn best in terms of doctors and patients.
Salesforce Anchor programs setup challenges that gradually increase in complexity that are rooted, or anchored, in a scenario with which the learner is already familiar.
This approach is especially useful for people transitioning to Salesforce from other professions because it teaches them to use what they already know to learn Salesforce as opposed to starting from nothing.

Love it or List It

"Many newcomers to the Salesforce ecosystem have to learn not only the technology, but also the language, or lingo, of business. We at The Salesforce Anchor try to focus on learning the technology by explaining it in a language you already know."

I was able to do my own research and built a killer portal. I was not able to get back into the course but I had used my previous knowledge to get what I needed and more achieved. I built a super dope registration flow that allowed parents to register their children for whatever school they attended in the Dallas ISD district and it created a child contact, parent contact and linked it to the correct account. It actually landed me a job!
